Annual Membership

Our Annual Membership runs from the 15th of March to the 14th of March the following year and, we believe, offers fantastic fishing and real value for money. We welcome all responsible anglers.

We have some fantastic fisheries and with CFPAS membership you will always find somewhere to fish: several of our venues are in the heart of the countryside so a peaceful days fishing can be had. Club membership purchased from our website ensures that all monies go to the club - so come on get applying and enjoy our fantastic fisheries. We are pleased to offer a new membership opportunity with a two tier membership. Our new season membership charges from January 2025 and are detailed below in the page. Andersons Lake: Andersons Lake is a secure but exclusive small venue. We only allow club members to fish here and they must buy an additional day ticket as numbers of anglers are limited to a maximum of ten per day. Tickets cost £5 - this is the first price increase since we opened the water twenty years ago. We have also introduced a half day ticket (noon till dusk) available for £2.50. Tickets for Andersons Lake must be purchased on the day of fishing from Longstanton Post Office. Early purchase of season tickets will ensure a full season of angling and help the club by bringing in revenue at the start of the financial year. Close Season

The Close Season for our rivers is from March 15th to June 15th inclusive. Our Still Waters remain open all year.

How To Join - By Post

Open the Membership Application Form and enter your details. Select the type of membership you require, then print and sign the form. Post the form, with a cheque for the fee for your selected membership and your name and address, to the address shown on the form. All cheques should be made payable to CFPAS Ltd. Notes on Membership

Membership Rules

Having paid for the current season's membership, which is valid from the 15th of March to the 14th of March the following year, members may enjoy the right of fishing on the Cambridge Fish Preservation and Angling Society waters. Members may not arrange their own competitions or similar large visiting parties on water and on dates of matches organised by, or under the auspices of, the Society. If members wish to hold a private match or visit in a large party on any date they must obtain approval from the Chief Bailiff well beforehand. When fishing CFPAS waters members must have their membership book available for inspection by a bailiff. Failure to do so may result in the member being required to pay a day membership fee.

Day Membership and Peg Fees

The Membership Ticket must not be lent or transferred. Any officer, bailiff or member of the Society may request any angler fishing the Societies waters to produce his/her Membership Permit or Day Membership Permit. Anglers failing to produce this permit may be asked to pay the £5:00 Day Membership Permit fee or to cease fishing and remove himself/herself at once from the fishery. Failure to do so may result in prosecution.

Loss of Membership Book / Change Of Address

Members are requested to notify any change of address or loss of membership book to the Membership Secretary immediately. A replacement charge of £5:00 will be levied.

Disabled Anglers

A concessionary discount may be granted to disabled anglers at the discretion of the President or Membership Secretary.

Local Residents Permit for The Commons

Anglers residing within a 15 mile radius of Cambridge city centre can fish "The Commons", which comprises the River Cam at Midsummer Common, Stourbridge Common, Jesus Green Lock to Chesterton Railway Bridge (City Bank only). Qualifying local residents do not need to purchase a full CFPAS annual membership in order to fish the above waters, but can fish these waters upon purchase of a special CFPAS residents permit costing £1.00 per season for adults, or free for Juniors. This fishery is managed by the CFPAS Ltd. for Cambridge City Council Leisure Services. All of the CFPAS rules, bylaws and regulations apply on "The Commons", however, fish caught on "The Commons" do not qualify for the Societies Specimen Fish Trophies. Qualifying local residents must purchase a full price CFPAS Annual Membership or Day Ticket if they wish to fish any of the Societies other waters.
