2016 Championship: Round 3
Kevin Saunders certainly made the most of his end peg swim near the A14 bridge this week; his 39 lb net being almost as much as the other 18 anglers could manage in total! His best three bream weighed 12 lb 12 oz, which with several skimmers, some nice roach and a 4 lb 3 oz tench made his arms ache and kept him busy. Steve Borrett decided not to go for the bigger fish and whipped out over 6 lb of small Chublets, dace and roach on the 5 meter line and with 20 fish to the pound he too was kept busy for second place. Liam Fletcher returned after a long absence and while he could only manage 3 lb 6 oz he did have a nice 2 lb perch to dream about. No one else had fish of any note, several had skimmers to about 2 lb but it was mostly mixed bags of silvers for average nets of about 4 lb so there was plenty of time to blame the faster than average flow, downstream wind and streamer weed for long bite less periods. Ken Whitmore did have an adrenaline moment when he landed an old metal chair frame while raking, he thought it was the long lost rake belonging to our favourite match organizer but alas that remains as hidden treasure. We’re back to Reach Lode at Upware for the next match on 17th July, hoping the tench, bream and larger rudd are hungry and waiting for us, book on with Trevor if you haven't already.Het opgevraagde bestand is verwijderd.
