I have not had many reports these last few weeks but I expect with many people having an extended Christmas break that many of us will be getting to fish our favorite venues especially if the mild weather continues.
Has good flow and color producing great roach catches in town with the occasional chub to 3lb.Favorite spots are opposite the Former gas works site at riverside.Long reach Chesterton or on the platforms to Horninsea. Small pike are also active to sink and draw dead bait.
Extra water has resulted in this lovely venue hitting great for with dace catches up to 7lb. Occasional chub to 3lb and plenty of gudgeon! Bread flake worm or maggot on the hook is proving best.
Upware along the moored boats for great sport with roach to 8oz and Rudd to 1lb.Bread punch has been a very popular bait but pinkie will also get you plenty of fish.Feed little and often for best results.
Sport has been much improved on this venue now that there is color in the water with silver fish catches around the road bridge at prick willow particularly good.Pinkie bat on the hook with small balls of ground bait added to the swim seems to be the method.
A little quiet but the large pike and perch will show in the winter months to dead baits fished along the margins.
Small pike to 6lbs have been caught to pop up dead baits along the platform swims near the car park.
