River Reports

The Lark

Ian Asplen sent us these catch report from The Lark:
Back on the Lark for sometime, it's nice to be able to get up and down the banks again. The river look in good form a nice colour and flow a result of the heavy rains of late. Fished the waggler with worm/maggot on hook, caught some nice skimmer to 2lbs, a few perch and three lovely big Eels one went over 3lbs. I have not seen Eels in the river for many a year.
Hi Graham, George Ivetts 48lb catch of bream taken at folly drove, using the lift method on a waggler from middle of river, his is holding the biggest of the session, 6.5lb. He had 14 bream. Also had three over 5lbs in that catch. Sorry about quality of photo camera not that good.

The Cam

Ken Whitmore sent us this catch report from The Cam:
In response to your suggestion to try the new platforms on B section of the cam, I tried my luck on Wednesday and I have to report that I had a good day. It was about 10.15 before I started (3.30 when I packed up) and I had bites right from the start, being mid-week there was very light bank side traffic and only two boats all day(bliss). I finished the day with a mixed bag of about 10 to12lbs of fish. I believe I could have had more if I had used a whip but I went retro and used a stick float as it wasn’t a match, a pleasant change. Seven species were included in this bag mostly small with the odd better fish they included, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Skimmers, Dace, Bleak and small Chub. I think I will have another go.

The Burwell Lode

Mark Freeman sent us this catch report from The Lode, fished on Wednesday 27 August:
Been up the lode this afternoon and had these two rudd at 1lb 11oz and 1lb 7oz plus another 8 over a pound. Not a bad 3 hours work on floating crust!
